In May, 2005 Park Ridge Hospital became the first hospital in North Carolina to acquire the 64-slice GE LightSpeed VCT CT scanner. This machine has the ability to replace other, more invasive diagnotic testing for such organs as the heart, colon, lungs and spine. Read more about the new CT scanner here.
In March, 2004 Park Ridge Hospital, Mission Hospitals and Asheville Radiology partnered to bring MRI service to residents of south Asheville. Skyland MRI is located at 1998 Hendersonville Road, Asheville. Patients and doctors benefit from the ability to schedule same day and next day appointments because, in most cases, doctors receive scan results within 24 hours.
In July, 2002 Park Ridge Hospital received a new, state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) unit. With this advanced equipment, our radiologists have the ability to read images from organs such as female reproductive organs and the heart, that previously were difficult to view. The speed and accuracy with which the unit operates translates into greater patient and physician satisfaction (less waiting time; more advanced, detailed reports delivered in a more timely fashion).
