Park Ridge Hospital will hold the 16th annual Frostbite Run on Sunday, February 17, 2008. This annual season opener 5K is flat to gently rolling over varying terrain. The race starts at Park Ridge Hospital and finishes at the Lelia Patterson Center. Parking is available at the hospital, and registration will be at the Leila Patterson Center at the intersection of Naples Road and Howard Gap Rd. To get to the Lelia Patterson Center take Interstate 26 to exit 44, then south on Hwy. 25. Turn left at first light onto Naples Road and follow to hospital.
The first 250 registered 5K runners are guaranteed a long sleeved tee shirt. Water and sports drinks will be available on the course. And participants get the BEST post-race food including huge cookies and fruit will be available after the race. A new addition this year will be the presence of the Chik-fil-A cow, who has offered to start the Fun Run!
This year’s event will be held in conjunction with Park Ridge Hospital’s Family Health Fair at the Leila Patterson Center. The Free Community Health Fair takes place from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm., and the race starts at 2:30 pm. Race-day registration will be held from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m. Entry fees for the Frostbite race are as follows: 5K early bird fee: $20.00 prior to February 14th; $25.00 after the deadline and on race day.
