Urinary incontinence -- the loss of bladder control — is a common and often embarrassing problem that affects millions of people. The severity of urinary incontinence ranges from occasionally leaking urine when you cough or sneeze to having sudden, unpredictable episodes of strong urinary urgency. Urinary incontinence is most common in women over 50 years old, however, it can affect younger people, especially women who have just given birth. While it is embarrassing, it is usually treatable.
